Default obd1-obd2 motor

i am trying to swap in a D16Y8 from a 99 Honda Civic EX into my 92 Honda Civic VX. As i was taking it apart in my garage it came to me that its just a motor really, what differences could obd2 make from a obd1 motor?

I was just wondering if it could pose as a OBD1 motor even though it is meant to be a OBD2 motor if only 1 o2 sensor was used and whatever sensors from a obd1 motor to a obd2 motor and a obd1 ecu.

just curious, please no flaming.

thanks.

I put a 96 DX motor in a 95. You can use all the obdII sensors (oil pressure switch, TPS, MAP...) all you need to do is use a OBDI EX, or SI ECU, and distributor. You will also need to use the Vx alternator. Then of course you will need to wire Vtec solenoid, and pressure switch, and if it doesn't have a (4) wire heated O2, you will need to wire that too!

Good luck!!
