Default OBD1 alternator on old Lotus

I have installed an OBD1 alternator from a honda prelude in my lotus and not sure how to get it working. It has 4 wires that go to the original computer and then the main power wire.

I dont know how these work. Do they require a signal from the computer to turn on and regulate? At the moment it is not charging at all.

I havnt had any luck on google, all i can find is how to convert from OBD0 OBD2 etc.

Any help or an idea of how they word would be great.

Why would you want to do this ? Honda uses a dual mode charging system that some other companies don't use.

I didnt know that it was a dual mode alternator. It fitted with little modification so was convenient. I am running a megasquirt on it so may be able to use that to control it.

Cheers for the document
