Default Kaizenspeed (kstuned)

Hi for everyone, i just want to warn all of you to avoid kaizenspeed production.. Before ~5k km i have rebuilt my h22a7 engine and used their balance shaft eliminator kit.. Now i have dead engine because of them.. On of oil plug which was in oil pump somehow pulled out and i ran out of oil, what damaged cranshaft bearing...From that what they said i understood that it's normal for plugs to fall out from used oil pumps... sadly i didn't knew that before buying.. so make conclusions on your own..

I'm pretty shure that this way is more reliable and much more cheaper : https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/%2420-h-f-balance-shaft-removal-2391818/

was that part of their kit? Contact them and tell them what happened and see if they will do anything.

Question why would you rebuild a engine and not replace the oil pump?...

Second I'm not sure on the details of your situation but I have purchased many things from Kaizen Speed. (H2B Large Oil pan, Balance shaft eliminator, Cam Trigger Kit) and have never had any issues with the products or the staff. They always respond to emails. IMO having parts fail is a part of racing. Nothing is guaranteed. I would blame the product on one bad experience.

I wouldn't places something in a hole like that without something that actually secures it into place. Especially not near the timing belt. I had a tiny piece of a zip-tie drop in my timing belt and made it jump 5 teeth on the crank on my old H22. I wouldn't wanna see the damage that thing would cause.

We have installed a bunch of these kits, and personally use one on our own drag car with no issues at all. Reid and Shawn at Kaizenspeed are both stand up guys at KS , sounds like someone didn't install something correctly or mangled something when installing it.

Yeah that plug looks like you tried to install it crooked and hammered it in unevenly.

oh yes, another case of cutting corners and **** poor installation by the user and blaming it on the company because it's somehow their fault you dont know what you're doing.

haters gonna hate... First two photos are made while I was rebuilding the engine, where you can see that plug is seated correctly, in third photo you see plug after he was pulled out, plug is damaged by pulley or smth..

It's a no brainer to always use a new oil pump when rebuilding an engine. Thousands of kits have been successfully installed all over the world for over ten years.
That being said, please respond to my email so we can get you back on the road again quickly!
Hate to see a fellow H22 guy hurtin!

1. It's my choice to change or not change oil pump while rebuilding! In fact that nowhere is mentioned that i can't or i shouldn't use that kit with used pump so I used it with used one.. Now you can say that i have dead bearings because of used oil pump (lack of pressure, not lack of oil)

2. Reid, respond to your email? as i see our conversation ended with my letter 10 days ago...

Can we start from the beginning?

1. Was the part new and in perfect condition?
2. Who installed the part?

It's your call to install used parts but without knowing the condition of the oil pump there is no way to put 100% of the blame on the KaizenSpeed part. It's likely the oil pump caused the issue.

i did have the same problem but caught it in time. just made myself a little bracket that bolts beside it and holds it in.

i now have 2 of these kits in 2 engines and think they are great.

In all honestly couldn't you tack it in place with a tig torch just to be save? Nothing hot enough to warp it, but just enough to ensure it from falling out?

when i received it was in perfect condition and installed it by myself. Now i machined new oversized plug and also tacked it with tig.
Mechanix : there is no offence to blame oil pump when i didint find any oil on oil level stick after all...
And now we see that im not only one with pulled out plug.. and just imagine how many others live in silence..

Sorry for your loss.
I have no issues with my KS balance eliminator kit. Will definitely not hesitate on going back to KS for more H supplies.

What? Can you rephrase that so it makes sense?

If the part was new and free of defects then this is simply an installation error or related to the oil pump, or something else entirely.
