notice in the upper right corner there is the letter shape of "up", this is the correct orintation, if it was on the other side and read "qu" it'd be wrong.... I dunnot bout the rest but this is someting I know for sure...
Well in that pic it look like it says dn. So is this wrong. Can the UP be placed in the right corner?
We where having a oil leak from this HG.
Enough to where the long slot/tray in the top right corner of the block, would fill up after driving it around..

actully , looking at it again. If i turn it, the UP would be in the left lower corner, and the 2 holes in the top center. One would be coverd.
Also Looking @ the new HG. That same "up" isn't stamped into the HG. Both HG are OEM HG.

UP is uses as the orentation of the headgasket in which side meets the head and which side meets the block. While YES the pic shows dn, if you look at it from the firewall side of the car it will say UP.... The two oil pressure lines in the middle of the block on the intake side mean the gasket can only be placed in that direction other wise you've got a covered whole and a gasket sticking out into noting...
I'd check to see how level/flat the head and block are.

Honda is retarded, they can hardly ever find the right parts in their own system. You should be able to use any o-ring as long as it's the correct size.
Or [freak] it, use some good ole Honda Bond LOL!!
Who's tuning? Please tell me its Randy at Kaizen and not Sosa.

that could be it too bc the motor pick up not be in the same spot as in the oil pan bc on mine iwas going to use an oil pan from a a6 for a z6 but they were in different spots
ps i know that the a6 isnt vtec but it still has and oil pick up(just putting that out there)
hope everything works out

So after a little winter break. We got back to putting the motor together.
So still NO VTEC, even after installing the "o-ring"
AND, there is still a oil leak comming from the headgasket.

any other answers? really hate pulling this damb head off, spending another $50 on another HG.
