no spark or fuel
ok, here's what's up
first off, i have a B16A (japanese) OBDI (converted from OBDII)
here's the problem... all of a sudden, and without any forewarning it would not start. It turns over fine, just won't start. i have no spark at any plug and my fuel pump isn't pumping fuel.
here's what i've done... replaced plugs, cap and rotor. checked plug wires - they have good resistance. i'm getting voltage @ the ignition coil and the ignition control module. the control module has good resistance. (checked all that using stats from a Haynes manual). i have no blown fuses. the fuel pump relay is good. (checked that too). the Check Engine Light remains on when I turn on the igntion, but i'm not pulling any codes. (since i am running and OBDI through a coversion harness through OBDII wiring, i'm assuming that the jumper wire trick still works, correct??)
everything else in the car works fine... i'm lost... although, it's probably something right in front of my face and i just don't realize it...
any suggestions will be WELL appreciated
thanks for your time guys
mike
actually i had the pcm on my 98 kill off one day. get a wire harness diagram
are you using a power probe? or a multimeter? if you are using a power probe get under the car test the pump at the harness for the pump have a friend turn the key to see if your getting power to the pump if you are and no fuel is flowing you have a bad pump.
2. if your not getting any spark at the wires and plug. start at the plug trace it back like you were till you get power and since the primary and secondary circuit are seperate. and you have power at the coil check your dizzy and make sure everything is strait..
3 buy a helms. because haynes sucks

i'm using a multi-meter. i've already checked back @ the fuel pump, no power is getting to it. the fuel relay isn't engaging... i've checked it though and it's good
and i'm getting power all the way through the coil, the control module, even at the harness to the distributor cap.
i'm just gonna assume it's something wrong with the ECU... it's not telling the fuel pump relay to engage the fuel pump and the control module to spark the plugs. i can't think of anything else that would cause this crap.
maybe i've just gone retarded cuz this is driving me nuts
i'll look into that helms manual

swap out ur main relay
by the way ur fuel pump relay is built inside the mani relay
(common thing that goes out)

i've tested that relay (under the dash, to the right of the glove compartment). according to the test, it was fine. when i applied voltage, i heard it activate and i got continuity (according to the multi-meter).
has anyone ever had a problem with an OBD convesion harness? loose wire, bad connections, etc
and also, since i'm running OBDI, can i still have someone check the ECU since my service port is the OBDII?
also, thanks to the people offering suggestions. i appreciate it
