Default no fire on #1 cylinder... please help

i just put my h22a4 into my 2000 civic hatchbacl. i am using the h22 engine harness and wiring it into the stock dx harness.. for some reason the # 1 cyliner is not getting fire. i posted a few topics about the external coil that is stock on the h22a4. some people told me that i could not use the stock external coil because it wouldnt work. they said i would need to get a jdm distributor w/ and internal coil...or buy an msd blaster coil. i have the blaster coil and i am having trouble wiring it.. the yellow/black wire goes to the stock coil, and then to the under hood relay. the yellow and green wires go to the distributor. the blaster coil only requires two wires, right? which 2 do i need to use?? please help me!!

hmm, that's strange. are you getting spark on all other cylinders?

if you are only not getting spark on #1 cylinder, then verify you have a good spark plug, and also spark plug wire.

it sounds that your distributor is just fine. but if you wish to convert to internal dist, you can get a 97-00 accord EX dist from the F22.

I would remain with the stock coil for right now and make sure you have spark on #1 before you mod the car anymore man.

Keep us updated!

i am not sure if this would work. but u can try a compression or leak down test.
from what i understand, if there is not compression ther wont be a spark.

not true. the spark is based on the distributor, and timed with the cam onto the rotor which sends it thru the cap. not compression by the piston. you can have **** for compression, but it'll still spark.

i'm getting no fire period. the motor turns over really good, it just will not spark. i am using a jdm p13, with an obd2-obd1 conversion harness. the jdm looks for an internal coil right? i have been trying the stock external coil, and then i tried to wire up a msd blaster coil..still no fire. would installing a msd SCI ignition kit fix the problem??

Has nothing to do with your coil, its gotta be either in your cap, wire or plug.
How did you check if you have spark.
There is no way its in your coil, its just a basic distirbutor set up when the rotor gets to that cylinder on the cap it should fire.

i pulled the #1 plug out of the head, attached the #1 plug wire and tried to turn over the engine. if it is firing then a blue spark should appear, correct?

attached it to where, just start the car , stick a plug or screwdriver, in the boot of the wire then put what ever you stuck in there near a ground ( intake manifold, groud on valve cover etc.

see if you spark coming out of the cap to that wire, put the wire back on the spark plug thats in the head, then pull the wire from the cap and see if you have spark coming out of the cap.

Dude, if there was a problem with your coil your car wouldnt start!
pop your cap off check in the cap make sure its not damaged or cracked,
I once had the the screw that holds the rotor on, come off and damaged my cap,
and rotor. Car still ran fine just lacked power.
Look at it this way your coil just provides the main spark to your dist. cap, then the
distributor distibutes the spark when the rotor gets to that cylinder on the cap, see why I say its not your coil

so why does it say no fire on cylinder #1, why didnt you just say car doesnt start!

you have to see if the ecu is pulsing the coil on the ground side.
I wired the my friends ignition on his EK with a H22, was easy but. Its hard to tell
you whats wrong since Im not there.

ok, now we are on the same page. sorry for all of the confusion, and thanks for the input. so how would i go about checking the coil? with a voltmeter? i know that the black/yellow wire (key on positive) that goes to the coil is powered. the solid yellow wire(coil positive) goes to the distributor from the coil.. and the green wire (ignition trigger) goes to the distributor from the coil.. i have rechecked all of my wiring and it is correct based on the diagrams i have. anymore suggestions are helpful and totally appreciated.
