Default no CEL when jumped code 0

hey exactly what it says my car shows no cel codes if I jump the cable it brings up a solid cel which is code zero. if I unplug any sensors the light will work and I can accurately retrieve the code. I already bought a new dizzy, a new ecu, I unplugged map sensor, I unplugged tps sensor, I cleaned ground g101. Tomorrow after work im going to check the voltage for no load, running and running with a load to see if my alt is frying the ecus I am really having trouble finding any more info on this hole limp mode stuff any advice would be greatly appreciated I didn't want to have to make a thread but I cant find any info on my problem specificly

when you jump the service connector, a solid cel means you have NO codes stored. a code zero would cause the cel to stay OFF.

Might sound stupid but my car through a code zero and would randomly shut off I changed the dizzy and Ecu still had problems... Turned out to be the negative cable that hooks up to the chassis to battery was bad. Their like 15 bucks to see if it solves your problem

Okay I will deffintly take a look at that after work... The results of my voltage test are as fallows

Car off- 18v
Car on no load - 21v
Car on with load - 19v

These are all obviously way to high could that mean my multimeter is bad or my altinator is putting out way to much voltage any help I can get will be greatly appreciated

Okay thanks for all the help you have given me so far but your saying since I have no cel light on but when I jump it it becomes solid it means I have no codes stored??

correct.

as for your voltages, I find those numbers nearly impossible to believe. a battery wont even hold more than 14 volts, so for it to have 18 volts with the ignition off is pretty impossible. sounds like your multimeter is reading wrong. or an ID ten T error :p

Okay so I got a brand new AA battery it read 2 volts. Instead of 1.5 so the multimeter was the issue there now as for the cel is there a possibilty I can get hidden codes pulled from the obd 2 port or maybe some kind of pending codes that are causing the limp mode??

call up some local auto parts stores and ask them if they will pull codes for free for you
