Default nitrous questions

i am building a motor and i want to run a large nitrous system, but im not sure on how big to go. i have crower econo billet rods with endyne 12.5:1 compression pistons, the motor is an lsvtec combo it has will have lsm cams with lsm valve springs and supertech valves. the nitrous kit will be a direct port fogger system, probably progressive... i did not get the block sleeved but i did purchase a zten block girlde to strengthen the block. the nitrous kit will only be sprayed wiht race gas or i will have a sepereate tank wiht race gas in it for the nitrous kit. alls i need to kwno is how large of a shot i will be able to run.. i have heard up to 150 from some peopel and from others i have just heard 110-120. i am just starting get the rest of the stuff done on my motor and i need to find out what it is capable of handling... if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it thanks.

After the Rods and pistons, the cylinder walls are next. I saw a guy blow his engine built for NOS on a 150 shot. I think that may do the same for you. Be careful.

If you want to run a big shot, with that high compression, I would look into the new EFI direct port nitrous set-up from NOS. Looks pretty promising, but kinda pricey for a NOS kit.

Why don't you start with a 100 shot and go from there? Tuning is the key. Read your plugs after each run. If they look good slowly up the shot. Put it on a dyno and check your a/f ratios. Which nitrous controller are you going to use?

I think your c/r is too high for any nitrous.
I run 11.2 c/r and a 100 shot and I'm waiting for my sleeves to crack

You will most definately need 2 steps colder spark plugs, and they will need to be checked often. Higher compression and n2o work great together..just remember, tuning is the key!

HIGH CR and N20 love doin' each other, if tuned properly...BUT, without sleeving, you are seriously compromising the integrity of those cylinder walls under that ridiculous cylinder pressure. YOU NEED TO SLEEVE IT. if you sleeve it and stud it, add stainless exhaust valves...you can run 150+ dp shot no problem, as long as your other tuning variables dont drop the ball...
