had severe detonation on my new set up high comp 11.5.1 with the nitrous timing retarded but had severe nitrous backfire...any advice would be welcomed..

 

detonatoin or backfire? what kind of nitrous kit you have? wet dry? how big of shot? you are running hi octane fuel right?

NO back fires while running nitrous cause your intake manifold to be turned into a combustion chamber since your injecting the air and fuel right there. If your using it at the throttle body with a big shot it can cause some big problems.

 

my friends sohc produces a loudass bang (like a m80 firecracker coming out of his exhaust) when he's shifting through gears while spraying...he says it happens all the time? pretty crazy if you ask me...i'd rather stay away from any stuff that goes 'bang'...

 

Does he got a W.O.T. Switch? or is he spraying the whole time he's shifting gears?

 

he has a WOT switch...but thats probably cuz he power shifts that thing everywhere he goes...damn leadfoots...lol
