Nitrous guys GET IN HERE --dry shot on b16
I have run nitrous on several cars, but always went with a wet shot. I was a little weary of tapping off the fuel filter banjo bolt for the wet shot (was worried the fuel solenoid would pull too much fuel from the rail and do more harm then good).
I have a small nitrous solenoid (was actually the purge solenoid off my ls1) with a nitrous regulator (shoots a small shot of nitrous into the fuel regulator vacuum port to increase psi going through injectors). I have a completely stock tune in now, but have one on order that should richen it up a little bit and cut a couple degrees timing. I was only spraying a 35ish shot of nitrous and base is dark (possibly rich at idle, possible oil), but the tips are LIGHT tan. Not dangerously lean, but lean enough, where I don't want to jet up. ( I plan on running a 75-100 shot eventually, once I have a spare motor incase things go sour)
I know the tune will help A LITTLE (probably allow me to run a 50-60 shot and see same results), but what else can I do to richen this thing up (only when spraying, trying to keep my N/A gas mileage as high as possible).
I was thinking about one of those adjustable fuel regulators that go ontop of the factory unit. They help at all? Or a waste of money? I figure bumping pressure 4 or 5 psi would probably be plenty. I plan on getting a walbro before I go with a 75 shot, but I figure a stock pump should supply a 65 fine.
If nothing can be done, I'll just break down and put the wet shot on it, but I'd rather avoid it, and I really don't think it's necessary for under 75.
