Next step for my hybrid. ECU??
I have a 93 CX with a JDM B18c with Skunk2 intake manifold Type R t-body CTR cams, portflow valve springs and some port polishing and other stuff. My concern is i have a stock P72 JDM ECU that goes into Vtec at 4400-4500rpm and i know that Type R ecu's go into v-tec at like 5500rpm.I can't feel my car accelerate faster until i'm over the 5000rpm range, it just seams to get slower when v-tec engages. At 5500rpm I can feel the car accelerate faster and faster until i stop right before 8k. What I'm asking is what’s the best way to upgrade the ECU side of things to go faster, I looked at chips, VAFC's, Hondata. Would a chipped p30 ecu be better since i don't have the GSR manifold anyway? would that just plug in?? I also live in AZ and i don't know of any shops here that sell or tune Hondata. Also I heard of members talking of Kenji ECU's but I haven't searched the forums for that yet. Thanx to anyone who reads all this I know it's long but it has been put away long enough.
Yeah search out kenjis stuff lots of guys dig that. I am under the belief that the engine you have has a slight torque drop-off that make it seem a little sluggish around those rpm's.
One of the mods here at h-t has a eg with a b18c and I thought he said something about that until he modded a p28 with kenjis chip and something else like a vafc.
sorry Im no help.
