Default new ecu and rough idle..

car: 95 accord ex
stock f22b1 engine/5 speed
cai/h/e and cat

just had my ecu chipped with a basemap for my motor. the ecu when plugged in starts the car but it idles like ****. i haven't even tried to drive it just for that fact.

when i give it a little gas in neutral it kinda acts like it is going to fall on its face.

they guy says i need to have it tuned to fix that, he is charging $250 for dyno and tune, which seems like a fair price, given my research. but i think it seems kida shady because i have had other cars with chipped ecu's and i have NEVER had to have it tuned for something like this.

BTW it is a p05 converted to p28 specs AND a basemap for my f22b1
some people have said to disconnect the EVAP but I am obd 1 and there is no electrical plug for the EVAP on obd 1 cars..

Any ideas besides getting it tuned? try to get it chipped by someone like phearable.net?? thanks

chips are generic fuel maps. tuning is a requirement. Buying a chipped ecu and not tuning it is like buying a turbo kit for the looks.

i had the same problem. That basemap is to just get you to the tune shop. Once you get it tuned it'll go away.
