Default The new CR-Vtec???????

This idea may have been talked about before but i did a search and found nothing.

I just got to thinking the new crv motor is a 2.4l k series engine. The RSX type S is a K series engine. So here is what i am getting at. Could there be a new Frankenstien swap even better than the powerful b20vtec's? I know the k24 is a i-vtec just like the k20a but dont know much about the head. But in theory you should be able to take a k24 block and attach a k20a2 head onto it making a pretty powerful combination. Compression would probably have to raised from the crv's 9.6:1 to make some good power but it should work. Anyone else thougth about this? I know it would eb really expensive to do right now but i think this could be the future of all motor honda's

Also the new Civic Si is a k20. And the k24s in the new Accords run very strong.

Isn't the K24 in the Accord from the CRV? Sounds like a good plan, but I wonder if they have to run new oil lines and passages like the B20 VTEC. That's the part where most CRVtecs go wrong.

i doubt it would be a difficult as a b20vtec b/c the k24 is already a i-vtec engine, like i said i don't know much about the head on that engine it may be good how it is, but i would think a k20a or a2 head would swap on fine. the head itself my be the same, if so you could just swap some k20a or a2 internals in to the k24 head(cams valves, springs ect).

Ahhh, I completely bypassed the whole "it's already i-vtec thing." Hmmm . . . that will make it a lot easier.

correction, it is an oil line (singular),

and no 'new' oil passages are run, one is simply blocked off.

you must be into H22s?

from what I read the k24 has a long *** stroke so I am not sure if it would bw wise to just bolt up the head an rev to 8k

same bore longer stroke? or a little more of both? if the bore is the same you could put some rsx type S pistons in. I don't know if anyone is making block internals for the new k motors yet

This is the problem. You'd need a bulletproof and perfectly balanced bottom end before even trying it. Simple head swaps are not an option.
