Default New clutch problems, help!

Well, i just got done installing my ACT 6 puck clutch with the HD pressure plate and ITR flywheel. The problem is, when i get to about 6k RPMS, the clutch starts making kind of a scraping noise, is this slipping? If so, what would cause this? I cleaned the flywheel off as well as the PP very well, so there isnt anything like oil on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To tell if the clutch is slipping but get up to speed, put the car in fifth and floor it.....if the RPM's increase and the speed doesn't you have clutch slippage.....if not then I am not sure but there could be something misaligned......how did you "clean" the flywheel? Did you have it cleaned? I.E. scrubbed with a wire drill? or did you clean it yourself?

Well, it doesnt slip in 5th, just kindof "chatters" in 1st and 2nd @ high RPMS. I had the flywheel resurfaced and they said they "tanked it" in something to get is clean before they resurfaced it I guess it was someething to clean it, as it looked brand new when i got it back. Maybe its just because i have an unsprung disk? Other than that noise it seems fine, 1st is a little tricky to take off, but its pretty smooth for unsprung.

Ok, your flywheel is good. tanking it is dipping it in a solvent to clean almost everything.....great stuff.....just don't get it on plastic or rubber.....hmm, I am not sure........sorry.

Its possible that its just -barely- slipping. try this: load your car as full of people you can get it, and try driving it up a hill. If your clutch is slipping at all, you'll know.

It seems as if you did not torque down the flywheel bolts to specs 19 lbs. or you might have a pressure plate bolt loosen. Best thing to do is go through it again. I suggest Action clutch or clutch net brands.

Well, i torqued everything to sped, but i cracked my tranny case today, so it looks like im going to be taking it all apart again. What a pain in the ***, but ACT said they would send me out a new kit because it might be defective. Pretty good customer service id say. Thanx for your help guys
