Need some of you Engine GURU's.
What is the difference in a 99 and a 2000 gsr motor? I know that from a 94-95 which has OBD1 and 96-2001 has OBD2 and also that the OBD2 has 2 o2 sensors. But I want to know why every place I see says that 94-95 rechipped ECU's will only work for 94-95 engines. I have a 92Si and a 95 gsr ecu on the 2000 gsr motor and everything is hooked up right. Everytime I get on it and redline it and shift hard check engine light comes on. I think it is because of the 2 o2 sensors but i am not sure. Also I am still running the 2000 gsr engine harness. it plugged right into the 92si engine harness with no modifications. Some body help me.

are you getting a code 1 or 41 ? or are you getting a 23 ? sounds like 23 which was never wired in the 92 chassis and is not in an vtec civic... knock sensor.
and whoever told you 92/95 vtec ecu can't run a 2000 motor is smoking crack or just guessing.

Ok I am using the 2000 engine wiring harness, 2000 engine, still has the 92 Si wiring going to the ccomputer, 95 gsr computer, i am using the primary O2 sensor, and no the secondary is not hooked up, When the check engine light comes on, It is throwing the O2 sensor code but the O2 sensor is brand new, I swapped it out twice, and it threw the same code. The light only comes on after the car is shifted above 7000, and there is no loss of power that I can tell. I have done a dash swap on the car and it now has a 2000 gsr dash and guage cluster in it, But I am using the 92 si under dash harness.
Why dont you tell us what number your engine code is. There is more than 1 and o2 sensor is a general diagnosis. Its only telling you where to look not what to replace.
