Well I'm going to get a 5th gen Hatchback DX CX, I'm getting this car to be my daily driver in college. I want to also drive it like twice a month at some open track events(road Racing). I want to swap in a new motor in.

The motor I want need to be reliable and fast, I'm thinking of a B16 or B18, what kind of power should i be expexting. I only have 4,000 for the swap. Does everything come with the motor when i buy to run, like a trans axle and all that other stuff.
Which motor should I get Pro's and Con's.

Where should I look to get it, on internet, and wheres a good place to get it installed in SoCal.

I would also like your opinion on suspension mods. Should I get Nuespeed race or sport springs and koni yellow shocks, or is there a better suspension mod for me.

ok i can cover the motor part suspension i have done 0 research.
engine. with a limited budget of 4k AND you need it installed the best bet is a b16a (second gen) you can get that shipped for about 2700 but still may need about 200$ more of aftermarket parts. installs generally run 5-700$ depending on where you look and who does it. remember its worth the extra money to have it done at a RELIABLE and WELL KNOWN shop than some guy in the parking lot at your local preformance store saying *psst* over here, i can install that motor for 250....

Do you think a b18b LS would be a good engine, can you get that engine with vtec?

the b18 is a good engine for turbo but to get vtec you have to swap the head with an engine that has vtec (b16a b18c)

 

Do you think that is a good choice for what i want, how much could it all cost or should i look into a B16 or even a B20

 

B18B or B20 with GSR tranny, the rest is in the tires and suspension.
