Need help chosing a motor!!!!!
Ok, So I drive a 98' hx coupe, just shot a rod out the bottom end, and now I need a swap. I am on a 5k budget and I need to know whether to get a jdm h22, or go with a gen 2 b16. Help please.

With a 5k budget, decide first what you want to do and then RESEARCH the best way to do it.
This topic is going to be closed just so you know.
All I'm going to say is you don't have to use the entire 5k budget on the motor swap alone.
You can spend say, 3100 on swap and another 2k either on suspension or on building the motor. You could even spend 2500 on the swap and 2000 on suspension/bolt ons and another 500 on aesthetics like gauges, interior and stuff.

Whatever sounds most appealing to you. Just make sure that you give yourself a little monetary slack for the parts you're going to NEED in order to get the car running. (ex. Tune-up parts, tie-rod end, misc. sensors, etc.)

I'm with (Essenar83) choose what you want and can afford. You can ask 30 people and they will give you 30 different routes to go. good luck on your project and keep us posted on what you went with. My opinion is.....as long as it's Honda you made the right choice.

Re: Need help chosing a motor!!!!! (No_Beer-No_Honda)
ls/v or b20/v will be cheapest and will provide most power and you can get either swapped with all the **** you need axles ecu harness etc... for less than 5k or i would say a b18c1 dont waste your money on a b16a h22a is also a cheap route. b20/v FTW
