Default need some moto info

Im looking for a d16z6 or a d16y8 to swap out my d15b2 .... which one would be the best to build, z6 or y8... And where can i get them .... i dont really care about the milage on it because im gonna completly rebuild it for speed.... one more question what year did these two motors come out of.... Thanks for your time..

The z6 tends to be cheaper, and the parts are pretty much interchangable. Also the z6 is OBD1 and should come with all the appropriate wiring and the ecu when you get it. OBD1 has proven to less of a hassle due to fewer emissions restrictions amongst other things. So I believe the z6 would be the way to go.

Rumor has it that the Z6 head flow best, and the Y8 intake manifold flows best.
Tell ya what. Do about another year's worth of research, otherwise you're going to **** your money away on uniformed parts decisions.

Also the Y8 trannys are rumored to have steel shift forks as opposed to the aluminum ones on the Z6.
92-95: D16Z6
96-00: D16Y8
