The Z6 will have VTEC on the valve cover, while the Y8 will just say Honda.

^^^^^^^

Not true. My 100% stock 94 ex with z6 said honda on the valve cover.

the y8 has a nicer intake manifold.
Y8 has stronger steel shift forks in the transmission while the z6 has aluminum which is very proned to break over the y8 forks.

the z6 is OBD1
the y8 is OBDII

I believe the y8 has a slightly higher compression by .2

Z6 has a better intake manifold or something too. I think either Ricey or Bauley know all the answers to this.
