Default Need Pro Help w/ My VTEC Problem

I have a 91 Integra running OBD0 with a OBD1 GSR Motor. It runs fine. It had a OBD0 B16 in it before, ran fine as well. well now the i switched motors over it does not hit VTEC!!??? Now first everyone is gonna say search, but ive search for about a week for like 2 hours a day. They all ask and say same hting which is obvious. CEL, VSS and wiring. Wiring is good because it was working in old motor, no CEL's and VSS is working, IM stumped, and its pissing me off, HELP HELP HELP.

are you also running and obd1 ecu im assuming you are. Are you sure you have the wiring wired up correctly. Are your sure that your are not throwing any codes like 22 which is the vtec pressure switch. Maybe you should test the solinoid with a 12v source to see if its even working. Try to elimate the obvious first to count out any possibilty of it being electrical first. good luck hope you get it fixed

Check the screen inside the vtec solenoid to make sure it is clean. Vtec does work off oil pressure make sure your oil level is good as well. There are many reasons why vtec want work. My coolant temp. sensor came unplugged on me before and vtec want work either if the motor is cold unless you have chipped ecu or vafc. Check that plug to make sure it is plugged up it is the one wire plug right under the solenoid. Sorry for your problems hope you find the problem good luck

no im running OBD 0 i stated that i believe. Everything is wired up correctly because i also stated it was hitting vtec in the b16 i had in before. I have no codes and i also checked with my multimeter to check for voltage and it all checks out good. I have oil, and my oil pressure is good. And my screen is also clean as well man.

-check vtec solenoid ( if you haven't already )
-make sure speedometer is working ( if it isn't)
-Oil pressure ( if it's even low )
-Last but not least, you probably need to switch wiring harness to obd1 and run a GSR ecu. just a thought man.

you said your running an obd0 ecu and an obd1 motor but it used to run fine with an obd0 motor...i believe you need an obd1 ecu to go with the obd1 motor..i think you can run an obd0 motor with an obd1 ecu but not the reverese...i could be wrong tho..i suggest ecu swap unless theres a way to wire the obd0 ecu to run an obd1 motor

I ran into a problem with an h22 accord once..... had great oil pressure, no vtec... even tried using a starter switch on the solenoid . It ended up being the oil pan was dented just enough to restric the pick up screen, and it only lost oil pressure at mid to higher rpms and when the ecu called for vtec...

same situation here, previous car worked and after the swap nothing? could it pos. be the distributor? i was thinking my dizzy was messed up but i cheked the ignition coil and the PCM with the ohm meter, I also checked the wiring to vtec selenoid and all test passed. right now the car is throwing the iacv cell, so im starting to think its causing the prob. i check the iacv connector for voltage and its good. i also tested the iacv by connecting it to the battery pos. and ground and it clicked so its also good.

is your car throwing any other cel's besides 22?

i never said i had a CEL i never had one. your not kicking because youhave a cel vtec wont work if you have a CEL. I figured mine out, because myhead used to be on a LS/V so the head was plugged, instead of removing the whole head just to remove the plug, i ran a oil line just like the LS/V
