Quick question. Im going to be doing quite a bit of freeway driving with my 94 GSR and am interested in a long final drive, or possibly a longer 5th gear. I dont know too much about any of that though. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? TIA

 

you can swap out an 94+ LS 5th gear into your GSR tranny....it's by far the longest 5th gear ratio Honda has for an integra tranny.

 

what are we talking about RPM wise at like 80mph? any idea?

i forgot but I'm pretty sure w/an LS 5th @ 80mph you'd be at 3500rpmish

Same here, I just got back from a long road trip, I was dying for a taller 5th gear, my b18c 5th gear puts me at 3300 rpms @ 80mph, I would like to be around 2k rpms in 5th @ 80mph. Before I got the swap, I was driving a honda civic vx with the stock motor and I could stay in 3rd till 115 mph, now I can't be in 3rd @ 80 mph. I seems the 5th gear in a gsr tranny is not much taller then th 4th gear, not to mention the speed limiter on a p72 kicks in at just over 120mph with is pretty scary when your going that fast the the engine cuts out!!!

....oh yeah, an LS 5th should put you in the under the 3000rpm range at 80mph
