Default Need to know what engine to build

Car - 92 Civic CX
Goal - 11's, possibly daily driver/weekends
Budget - Hopefully I'll get the job I applied for so it'll be extremely forgiving

I want to tinker with an engine in my garage for several months, I'm going to do all the work myself except machine work and document it in "How-to's". I know a fairly decent amount and with manuals, online support, and time I'll be able to figure out what I don't know. I will go turbo definately, no Nitrous.

Options:
LS/Vtec - I know this works good for allmotor applications, but I do not know how well this stands up to boost. I hear that the LS is good for boost, so any input dealing with the LS/Vtec w/turbo would be appreciated. Best Tranny? Ecu? Fuel Injector size?

LS - I'll end up sleeving the cylinders, doing a complete build up, crower rods, crower cams, crower springs and titanium retainers, stainlessvalves, JE Pistons, etc. Best Tranny? Ecu? Fuel Injector size?

GSR - I would do a complete build up on this engine as well for turbo applications, but I'm unsure how well the B18C1 handles boost. Some say that the LS is better than the GSR for turbo's. Best Tranny? Ecu? Fuel Injector Size?

Remember my goals of 11's when considering the best ECU, Tranny, and Fuel Injector Size. I'm unsure of how much boost it would take to achieve my goals.

I'll be running Nitto555r's I've decided, btw.
I'll remove the rear seats, spare tire, jack stand, rear steel compartment, then I'll insert 2 Sparco Torino's, Roll cage. plexiglass rear window and I believe that will be it.

I want to have that some what sleeper look, but to achieve that and my goals would be hard to do. Atleast it would be hard to achieve both of those with the level of safety I would like to have.

Thanks for any and all information, I appreciate it.

Chris

11's in a FWD daily driver is pretty much nuts.

You want 11's in a daily driven honda........simple purchase a 900CC and Throw a 100 shot in it.

In a 92 CX.....if you plan on keeping the interior.....GOOD LUCK!!

Either way......B18C1 (GSR) resleeve bore to 86mm....forged everything.
T3/T4 Turbo and 30 PSI of boost.
There.......ROFL......you need to decide what your budget is.....getting a job soon....come on man, the engine costs 3500 (if you put it in) the sleeve and bore costs another 800......pistons 600 rods 500.....and your still only making minimal power.

Turbo kit, ROFL 5 grand easy.

Talk with GSRwBOOST about how much his cost.......then you will get the picture.

I'm going to spend some where around 20g's within a one year span on this, it should be possible with that. I will not spend more than that though, not on a honda Oh, btw, I know how much stuff costs.

Thanks for your opinion though.

Never go LS VTEC.........why when you can just go CRVTEC???

Old site but helpful http://www.crvtec.com

There are people running 12.9's with that without the turbo......throw on a turbo and it is possible......

If you have 20 grand....no it isn't. Beside it can be done with 10. EASY!!!!
7 grand for an all motor CRVTEC that runs 12.9's at 12:1 comp.

Just get 9.5:1 Comp pistons. and you will be fine.....as long as everything is forged mind you.
