Default which engine would be best?

ok so im going to be buying a new engine soon but im not really sure what i want to get. i have a 93 integra with an ls and b16 tranny in it right now. i want to reach about 250-275ish hp when im done after getting the new motor.
my dad is going to be buying me the motor. i told him i wanted a jdm gsr, which was about $2500. he also said hed pay to get a full tune on it (i want to go turbo). or i can get him to buy me another ls for about $1300 and spend the remaining $1200 or so on parts for the engine. so basically i want to know what would be a better motor to buy.

i hope that 1300 ls is a complete swap.

if you are going to boost then you might as well stick with the LS.

if it were me though, i would at least replace the rods with a good forged set considering your power goal.

Agreed, no point of getting a high comp engine when you just have to lower it anyway. LS is cheaper and you can use the extra money for things like forged pistons and rods.
