NEED HELP Swap reving to 5k on startup weird whistle
We just put my b18c1 in my 94 hatch. We made sure everything was wired, vtec, purge, not knock sensor cuz its a p28 chipped.
Anyway, I put a skunk2 intake manifold on it with a new intake gasket. I scrapped most of the old one off, although there were little pieces of it left on intake ports.
My friend thinks we have a really bad vacuum leak from the intake manifold. Could this be if on startup the motor revs itself to 5k, we are trying JDM p72 ecu and a p28 OBD1.
It just fluctuates revs from 3k-5k and then stays at 5k and we heard this really weird loud whistle noise
I didnt see any CELs also ?? HELP!
Think it might be a leaking gasket on the intake manifold ???

Definite intake manifold gasket leak.
Why NOT fully remove the old gasket crap?
You have to do it all over again now.
Plug your intake ports.
Use a thin brass (Brass is a Softer metal than aluminum, so it won't mar your mounting face) putty knife and a some permatex gasket stripper.
Put rags underneath it first to keep all that crap off the back of your block.
Go over it finally with some pure Acetone (beauty supply store item), and don't let any crap in your cylinders.
High idle = "extra" air in the cylinders that was not "metered" by the ECU.
IE: Gasket leak, Excessive PCV flow, IACV problem, FITV problem (A/T), etc.
Good Luck.
