Default need help from some engine builders

ok to start of it a ls b18b1 stock completley rebuilt new bearings new rings new gaskets new water pump oil pump and so on. my problem is i had it assembeled and they and come to find out the cylinders were not honed and when i started the motor it ran perfect then i go to start it again and smokes like a bitch there is blow by in the cylinders my question is if i take it all apart and have the cylinders bored within the service limit can i reuse the rings and if i do will they seat properly

i usually never reuse rings even after a simple start, usually if u let it idle for about 20 mins it will start to seat and then the perfect A/F will allow for a good break in after that, but just get some new ones

if all you did was just start it and run for a couple minutes, im pretty sure you can just reuse them

did you forget to have the cylinders honed or did the machine shop forget to do it?

now im not sure because im only getting blow by in 2 cylinders im gonna pull the pistons and see if the rings are staggered correctly does any one know if u can get blow by if the rings are positioned at the pin or thrust surface

if you bore/hone your cylinders your piston ring gaps are gonna be off. as cheap as rings are just get another set
