need help please!!!!

Default need help please!!!!

i cam across what seems to be a good deal on a complete vtec b series head. it is suppose to be a type r the casting number is pr3-3. can any one tell me if that is a type r or if not is there any other identification on the head that would tell me if it is a type r or not. thanks for your help email or im with any info

thanks for the help i know that the pr3 is b16 or itr but i was wondering if the pr3-3 told you if it was itr or not. as best as i can gather from a bunch of people the - # could be anything or any model . thanks again though

type-r cain't remember which yr,maybe all of them not sure.there will be a stamping in between the dist. exh. cam seal. that says p30

take the valve cover off and look where i said to look.pr3-3 i believe is a 99-00.but i could be wrong.

some out there confirm this.

thanks for everyones help i couldn't come up with a definite answer but it seemed like a good deal even if it isn't a itr for sure. so i purchaced it any way well told a friend to go ahead and purchase it. thanks again for all the help.

A type r head has a hand polish so there shouldnt be any casting marks in the head. Also if the valves are clean you should see a swirl polish on the head inside the port. Also there is a date stamp on the head above the exhaust ports, those should be a year the type r was available. That should be enough.
