Why is your focus mainly on the block? If you build a high performance engine, just doing block work will not allow you to increase power potential unless you go to higher compression pistons, or something real expensive like a stroker kit. I suggest having the head ported as well as a good valvetrain and some good cams. Even if you plan on boost, you will be able to pull good horsepower numbers with less boost if you put a lot of focus on the engines airflow.

i think the head might already be ported.. as for the block. i would personally look at the srp 10.5:1 compression pistons and see if you can match them to shotpeened ls rods. get new rodbolts, clutch and flywheel and you should be in buisness

if you are on a budget just go higher compression.I would go like around 11.5/12 though.
If you have money to spend, then you could sleeve with bigger bore and higher compression.

I don't know why you posted this, Dre

Head's been built.....just no cam.

I'm telling him to go with an Exospeed cam and PR6 pistons in the Z6 block....

this should be a very reliable 11:1 setup with a good flowing head all tuned on Hondata.

Agreed. I believe this setup should do fairly well and won't require anything expensive such as sleeving or forged internals. Go for it.
