Default Need Help......(long)

Well I haven't kept up to date as much on my build..

Basically long story short, I'm done....well @ least I thought I was....

Well yesterday was supposed to be the Big day.

I get to start my car.

Cleaned up all the loose ends, prime oil, throw in a few gallons of fresh 93 octane.

Turn the key....nothing....no fuel pressure....

First thing I do was check the pump, the lines were bone dry...?? So I pulled my BRAND NEW Walbro 255lph in tank pump and replaced it with my old one. I had uel pressure. So that was nice to know that my new pump was D.O.A. I was hoping that was my only glitch..no such luck.

Again, turn the key it turns over and then wham, sounds like it binds....

I thought oh no...timing or a mechanical issue.

Pulled the fuel pump fuse under the hood, did a comp check, and rotate the engine over again to see if it was hitting. Fine.

The comp check was 170-180 across teh board. 9:1 comp.

With the fuel fuse out the car turns over just fine...wa wa wa wa wa....

Sounds exactly like it was stock.

So we put the fuse back in, same thing...wa wa wa er. wa wa wa er.

Weirdest thing, seems like it comes to a grinding halt.

Almost seems to me that it is firing in the wrong order. Sorta counteracting itself...causing it to die prematurly.

We check for fuel again, yes.

Spark yes.

Pulled the timing belt off again, checked timing...spot on.

Unhooked the resisor box , thought it may be miswired...same thing.

Checked the plugs, the wires and the dizzy. Fine.

Put it back together same Exact thing....wa wa wa er

After that I went to bed, it was like 4:00 in the morning after working on it for some 14 hrs....

Today I pulled my injectors out and put my stock ones back in, rigged a quick wire job, with my stock ecu.

Same thing..wa wa wa er. wa wa wa er.

Even broke down and undid the windeband o2. Put my stock sensor back on.

Same.

No cells. Car acts funny only when the fuel pump fuse is in. Not sure what that controls exactly. Seems like there is a short somewhere in the wiring...

Odd...

Ecu harness is fine also.

Sorry for the long post. If anyone can give me any pointers I would gladly appreciated.

Been a long hard road....I hate to give up. I don't want to take it anywhere....b/c I did this trying to save as much $$ as I could, thats why I rebuilt it myself.

Over the past few days, all the work I have done in the past weeks has been changed back to stock, injectors, ecu, etc, I have slowly put back to stock, except turbo/manifold/pistons/rods. Things that I can get to. Trying to alleviate all the extra's I added. So hard for me to trouble shoot this. So many variables. Sucks completly.

Thanks guys for your time and help.....

Little update....I am back to thinking its a timing problem.

I can't see to get my dizzy to point to cyl #1 and have cyl #1 @ tdc and have it slide in. Its waaay off...

Any ideas...my base timing seems correct.....

my only idea since you've reverted back to timing, is to check that you did not accidently set the timming belt on the cams with the crank at BDC. there are 2 timing marks 180 degrees from each other. take spark plug out of cylnder #1(closest to the cam gears) and double check piston is at tdc with a long screw driver (just feel around, manualy turn the engine over to feel the piston rise and fall)
this is the only thing i can think of just somthing to check out. let me know if it helps.

It finally started up. Evidently I had the cam gears wrong. New adj gears and I was reading the wrong marks.

Anyway...gonna look itover good tonight...

Thanks...
