Need Help: Car won't start, everything is normal
I'll try to make this short. I built a new motor, its getting good compression, im getting spark and fuel for sure. The new motor is a just another b18b, but its built up and bored to 84mm. It was running when I pulled the old motor, but i can't get the damn thing to fire. I'm not getting a CEL and everything appears to be good, i've spent 10 - 15 hours trying to figure it out with no luck. I tried playing with the fuel a lot with uberdata to make sure it wasn't running too rich or lean, but i couldn't get it. The cam timing is right, i tripple checked it. Spark is at 16* BTDC so thats good. Could the injectors be spraying at the wrong time? When i turn it over all i hear is the motor cranking and a little *blewp* sound that just sounds like normal compression.
any suggestions are appreciated. I'm going to put my stock injectors back in and un-chip my ecu next weekend, but i'm just trying that because nothing else is working.

like wat forcedspeed said check your coil it might be bad.... plus can u read the timing mark when the car isn't running? coil can go bad after a compression test sometime. take out ONE of the spark plug with the wire attached, then crank the engine with the unpluged spark plug against any metal part of the engine. if there is spark then the coils are good. try that

I am getting a good spark when i turn the motor over with the plugs out (i haven't tried just one plug at a time, but i dont see why that would make a difference). I'm reading the timing while the motor is cranking. so the ignition seems to be all good...
Thanks for the reply

tried that.
tried that.
i got a few good ideas to try next time i get the chance:
- Check thermostat housing ground
- try spraying starter fluid in the cyilnders and unplugging injectors to get it to fire once
- check the rotor screw to make sure its on there good.

try checkin your grounds...i had a problem like that once too, i still never found out what it was but i secured a wire that was exposed on my engine harness...it worked but my car still wouldnt keep idle till after a few tries...sorry wish i can help you more
a little update. I tried using starting fluid and I checked the thermostat housing ground and neither helped. I'm going to have a lot of time to mess with it in a few days so i'll keep you guys up-to-date. the grounds are all good...
well, it took me long enough, but i figured it out! The part on the distributor thats only supposed to go in one way was in the other way. I was thinking the spark was on time because it was flashing at 16*BTDC but i wasn't thinking that it would show that if it was firing on the exhaust stroke. It runs amazing. Thanks for all your help.
