Default Fresh built motor started then died

Ok just finished putting in my new turbo motor freshly built by RS Machine and new internals on the head. Everything was double checked, lubed and oiled before firing it up. I had a buddy burn me a basemap for my injectors. The first couple of times I cranked the motor and it turns over, almost as if it was gonna start, but no complete catch of spark. So I double checked everything and it turns out my pre-burnt basemap chip wasn't all the way in. So I fixed it and tried again with a jump start since my battery was really low. This time the car fired up for about 3 or 4 seconds I'd say then it died. I called my friend and he said that the problem could be the basemap is running too rich for my big injectors and he'll just need to come tune it on the spot to get it running.
Now my question is "Is this typical?" I'm just gonna have to wait till the weekend when my friend comes down to tune the car, but for now i'm just a bit curious. Thanks in advance.

If the person making the basemap has no idea what they're doing it's typical but normally you shoyuld be able to just input the injector size and the standalone will automatically fill in the fuel map in a very "basic" (untuned) sort of way. I've never had a problem starting on a basemap. how big are your injectors?

What program are you using to burn the basemap? 680cc injectors shouldn't be a problem with a correct basemap.

well my buddy's computer wasn't too happy working with crome so he burnt me an uberdata map for now. Hopefully, it'll be sorted out this weekend when he's actually here to reset the features. Just wondering if this is a common problem. Atleast the car started, means I did my settup correct in one way or form

The bigger the injectors are, the harder it is to "guess up" a basemap unless you have a very similar tuned setup map in your arsenal.

Personally...I wouldnt even start up a fresh build on a basemap.

8-900 rpm or 8-9000 rpm... if your idleing at 9000 rpm you need to fire your tuner...

1. I wouldnt start a fresh build on a basemap unless I had a wideband installed in the vehicle.
2. Learn to check your codes.
3. Resolve all codes.
4. If you don't have a wideband, get one or simply have your tuner come over & tune the car on location from start up....
