NEED HELP!!
I have a jdm b16a first gen motor..in a 90 hatch...it doesnt pull when vtec comes on..it make a loud noise like its bogging...changed the ecu, distributor, wires, sparkplugs even got a new head but used the same cams and internals...still does the samething...then i got tired of it and gave it to my friend for cheap...its rewired in his car and everything does the same thing but this time only when the car is warmed up..when we drive it in the morining it pulls like a champ..but on the way back it boggs when vtec engages..can u guys help me..asap thanx
With a bad oil pump u would have bigger problems than just no vtec. I would take of the vtec solenoid and see if the screen inside is clean and everything looks good. Then check the oil pick up, it may be dirty or clogged and that might give u all kinds of problems. Then the most likely thing is the wiring, mostly the knock sensor, I've had my share of problems with the knock sensor, and I never really fixed it cuz u need shielded wire for it and I couldn't find it any were. I got a chipped P28 with no knock sensor and it worked great. Also check the timing and u should get a code if some thing is wrong with the wiring. I used to get the knock sensor code only when the car warmed up too. Good luck

disconnected the vtec and it runs fine but without vtec..its hella slow but it doesnt bog so yea...the car has been wired by a shop..so it cant be messed up...would the cams cause this problem??
so its not bad timing, and its not cams since it doesn't bog when v-tec is disconnected. It might be the v-tec solenoid or wiring, maybe the ecu. Do u get any codes?
