Default need help

Ok need help figuring out what could be wrong with my vtec. I have a 91 hatch with d15b turboed, its dyno tuned and all. My problem is that here last couple of months my loads up right around 4200rpm which where vtec should engage. If i keep it at 0 vacuum and try reving through the gear it sounds like im hitting two step around 4200. and if i smash it it stops but it spits and sputters there the rest of the rpms. i have converted it to obd1 and all wiring is wired right. i have the oil pressure switch grounded to thermostat house with wiring harness ground. soleniod is ran to ecu but the oil pressure that runs from harness is tapped into the soleniod wire just piggy backed off of it. cause when getting it dynoed it kept the throwing cel for oil pressure switch, and that how the tuner ( john kerr) did it. so do u think its the soleniod? who do u test it? also its a p06 converted to vtec by John Kerr.

PLEASE HELP

Your in limp mode first of all. You say the wiring is right, but your explanation of the vtec wiring doesn't make sense.

The pressure switch just completes a circuit passing a ground signal. The vtec solenoid uses a 12v signal. I'm reading that your oil pressure is tapped to the ground on the thermostat housing in one sentence, but that it's tapped to the solenoid feed in another sentence. So, am I to understand that one wire from the pressure switch is grounded and the other is tapped off of your solenoid wire? If so, that's wrong.

If you say it was tuned and ran fine, but now is all jacked up, then something changed. Did you mess with wiring, change anything, etc? Do you have a check engine light on? Did you pull the code?

ok the ground for the pressure switch is grounded on the thermostat housing.
My tuner said that he removed something on my tune that if i wanted i could start up the car and vtec would engage without the oil pressure being up. and for check engine light its not throwing any. he also is the one who told me to run the oil pressure signal to the soleniod wire. not sure if the soleniod is good or not how do u test it. all havent charged anything since he tuned it...
