Default need advice

well this is my car a 1994 honda civic vx hatch that has a 1995 si head. p28 everything else is pretty much stock. the car is running very weird. At idle sometimes it cuts out. between 2-3 grand it studders really bad. I cannot put the car in 4 or 5 gear because i am using the VX tranny which makes it drop below 2 grand. When i give it gas at those rpm's the car feels like it is cutting out just isnt getting any gas at all. i have to put it back in 2nd gear and give it gas so that it will run right. I am throwing a code 48. that is Heated o2 sensor. I was told by a guy at my work that it really doesnt do that much he thinks i should change the fuel pressure regulator since it does it at idle too. I was told that it could be another million things too. Has anybody had this problem or am i the only one. I would just change out the O2 sensor but they are 375 from honda for a 5 wire wide band crap. If anybody has a idea since i am running the P28 if i can run a normal 4 wire 02 and how to hard wire that up. thanks alot i hope somebody can help me

The reason it's throwing the Heated O2 sensor is because you have a 5 wire O2 sensor wired up like a 5 wire O2 sensor using an ECU that is looking for a 4 wire.

Wiring the O2 is simple, but will take some time to wire up.

The VX O2 wiring configuration is pretty wack with all of the EGR stuff. You will need to move some wires to get it configured to the 4 wire O2 set up.

Here is the 4 wire configuration for the P28 92-95 Civic Si/EX.

WHT-> WHT-> D14 (O2 input)
GRN -> GRN/WHT -> which is spliced with the IAT, but GRN/WHT is the sensor ground doing to D22. You can splice it with the GRN/WHT wire at the IAT though.
BLK -> YEL/BLK -> Sensor positive which goes to the power junction harness, but this goes to A25 or B1.
BLK -> ORG/BLK -> to A6 which is Heater Control

The configuration for the VX is pretty wack, but here's what to do:

make sure the WHT from the O2 sensor goes to the ORG/BLUE which leads to D14.
GRN goes to GRN/WHT which is ground or D22.
BLK goes to the YEL/BLK goes to the power junction harness or A25
and the other BLK going to the ORG/BLK wire which goes to the A6 pinout.

The rest of the wires, leave them hanging or as stock configuration.

It'll take some time to think about, but you'll get it.
