f20b high idle/iac
Alright this is my last question pertaining to the (very shitty)f swapped car i bought
Re wired the whole swap, adjusted the monting spots, got the vtec working, installed an o2 sensor(the ****** was running this **** without an o2 sensor for months, who knows how burned the pistions are) got a chiped p28 tuned for an h22.i wanted one tuned for my engine, but i was running on a stock p28 and i know its dangerous because of the fuel mapping a stock p28 for a dual cam. got the chipped one for cheap as a solution with cel shift light and 2step
The car runs great now after all the work i've put into it, when launching i spin tires all the way till the middle of 3rd gear, the only problem is my high 3k idle. This is because of the prev owner not swapping out the 3 wire iac to a 2 wire. I already wired everything up and when connected to a 2 wire iac i have i get no check engine lights(amazes me that my problems might finally be solved) so i know all i have to do is mount the damn thing. I know its not a vaccum leak since if i put my fingers over the two little holes inside the throttle body the car dies or idles fine if i cover it just enough to let a small amount of air pass.
I just want to know how to mount this 2 wire iac, i've been searching google for a good few days now and nobody gives a clear answer. What i've read was: get an adapter plate or get an h22 top plenum from a 93-95 prelude and slap that on.
Does anybody know of a place that actually makes the adapter? How hard is it to remove the top plenum from an f20b and install the one from the h22? I really want this car running right and im sure the high idle is hurting something so im trying to get this fixed asap. thank you for the help

Re: f20b high idle/iac
This is a f20b intake
this is an euro r intake
This is the adapter from rosko
and here it is installed
The adapter would be backwards if i tried to install it on an f20b style, right? I really don't wnt to swap out the intake for an h22 since i've been reading it will be a pain with the studs being a different size.
The adapters ARE out there but i just dont know what the hell to buy, anybody?

Re: f20b high idle/iac
I just had the same issue as u I posted a thread recently to help sorry im late to seeing this.

Do you happen to have a copy of your tune. I would love to see the timing its running. Im in the middle of tuning mine.
Also the tops are the same so you can interchange them no problem.

Re: f20b high idle/iac
has anyone taken apart the iac valves and switch the motors? is that a posibility? I will be going through all this soon when I start doing my swap. right now I have a obd1 prelude IM, but who knows how it'll go once I start putting everything together.

Re: f20b high idle/iac
I highly doubt the IACV's are interchangeable they are completely different shapes and sizes. If you already have a Prelude you can just use the IM manifold and not have to mess with it. The F20B IM IACV and injectors are a pain in the ***. No one knows the real size or volts so trying to tune it right suxs. I found someone that says they had them flow checked at 310 cc so i just kinda guessed the voltage between the s2000 and 97-01 injectors. I have no clue which version f20b he had either.
