Default are my pistons supposed to wiggle?

ok i have a 92 honda civic hatch, with a d16y7 motor and turbo boosting 9 psi-- i blew my headgasket-- but the motor still ran pretty normal, just had smoke coming out of the valve cover-- or when u took the oil cap off-- so i toook off the head and i can wiggle the pistons alittle bit-- all of them all 4- is that bad????

I dont think that you should be able to wiggle them, do you mean back and forth?? Possibly your rings are bad? Too bad you already took off the head, could have done a comp test!

well my head gasket was blown so i think the compression was low already--

like i said i was driving it around for the last few days and it ran fine-- just leaking oil everywhere-- also there was detonation some times-- i dont know-- i dont want to put the head back on if the piston rings are messed up

pistons aren't perfectly round they are shaped like and oval, but barely noticable unless ur using measuring tools, but you shouldn't be able to wabble the piston with the rings on it so most likely ur gonna need new rings in the near future

For 100 bucks yeah just make sure the block gaurd was intalled correctly (not tapped in with a hammer) i would say use that and build the block you got now
