Default MSD distributor cap without coil?

recently bought a b16 head. tonight I noticed the dizzy has this cap on it.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-82933

I didnt get the coil or any other wires, just the dizzy itself. I'm wondering if its still functional as is without the coil etc.

I'm in the works of getting all the parts together so I rather know now than later. If I can't use it, is it worth buying the coils to make the fit complete? Will I see any difference? (I don't think so, but I don't know for sure )

Thanks.

you'll need to get a different cap if you're not going to use an external coil.

You'll need external coil OR a new cap and hope the internal coil is still in place. You should just upgrade do external and box and icm bypass module

Where is the internal coil? inside the cap or in the dizzy itself? what does it look like? What about the links I posted above, could I buy those caps and be good? Am I able to safe off the cap on my dizzy and see what I have and don't have? I am very confused at this point, I can only hope you help me out before I make decisions blindly.

I see the coil alone going for $50 (the whole kit is 99$) so I'm thinking of just going with replacing the cap if possible, unless I can piece the rest of the msd setup together for a decent price.

Patiently waiting for your help. Thanks

Just pick up an MSD Blaster coil and the resister that goes with it, it should be all you need and you can find them for cheaper then $50 you just have to Google. 94

I have the distributor cap already... You can buy the dizzy cap for 50$ yes, but you can't buy the coil and the resistor wire for 50$, I can't even find the coil and resisitor wire together.. its only the whole kit, or the cap only.
