MSD DIG6 problems!!! Need help, very frustrated!
The shop working on my car has tried 2 different MSDs and both make the car stutter at 5500. They've tried messing with the rev-limter and it doesn't help. W/o the MSD my car runs fine. I am using an MSD coil too. The techs at MSD have been no help I guess!... 
Has anyone else had this problem? Its frustrating my shop as much as me.
Laughin2.2 said something about 2 wires not being able to be run near each other.....Does anyone know which 2 wires these are?

If we can't figure this thing out, what other options to I have to retard my timing? What does Jacobs make to do something like this? Crane? Mallory?

Going to try a new coil wire. Is there an upgraded one that can be used?
Problem begins at 5500 with or without VTEC. He set VTEC at 7000, and it still stuttered at 5500.
So maybe when it hits 5500, the MSD starts pushing some serious juice through it, and a bad coil wire would start to fail? Without the MSD, the "BAD" coil wire can handle the stock juice being put through it?!

Are you positive you have all the settings right on the MSD. Also what are you using this for. I know to retard timing, but on what and why? Why don't you just sell it and buy a computer for the car which will reatrd the timing for you.

I don't feel like I am at the point of needing a computer right now. I am running it on an 80wet setup with all the bolt-ons and headwork.
All the settings have been checked several times as that was the most obvious of problems. The ground has been moved a couple times, and actually hooked right up to the battery.
BTW: What kind of computer would I get??? AEM EMS?

Well.....new plugs/wires/coil wire and still having the same problems.
I need someones help with this. MSD has been no help at all either.
Any other input? I am ready to give up on the car until spring.

damn,you still didnt fix it,must be driving you crazy....anyway,When you take off the msd do you also take remove the external coil and cap with coil connection and you put back stock cap and internal coil?
When your looking at the box on the side that has all the adjustment ***** for the retards and 2-step.The switch all the way to the right for the cylinder adjustment,just above the red light,it has 0-4 cyl,1-6 cyl etc etc...You have that switch on 0?...put all those switches on 0 if theyre not already
so you have them all on 0...what about the msd to coil wire,you have the orange wire to the + side and the black to the - side?
and the wires for the msd to distributor,,you have the msd red to the two distributor black/yellow stripe wires and the msd white to the one distributor white/blue stripe?
