Default PROBLEMS WITH MSD (HELP)

so i have a msd 6al box with blaster ss and msd wires. i hooked it all up the way msd instructions. i removed the internal coil and cut the little screw taps off the wires that connect to the coil and wired them into the wires for the msd and ran the wires through the little rubber block the rest of the wires went through. i had all the other wires ran right according to the instructions (it is only 6 wires). well my problem is the car runs good for a few hours then i blow out the ignitor, i did this twice. 2 totally different ignitors went with. the first one lasted longer about a day before going out completely, the second with in a few hours. i put the dizzy back to stock with a new coil adn ignitor and hasnt happened again. does anyone know why i kept blowing ignitors out with my msd or have similar problems. i talked to a friend he told me msd claims you need to cut holes for heat issues. i dont know how much of this is true or if thats the reason why i was blowing them due to the heat.

sorry for the long read just dont want to let this msd go to waste. let me know what you think and i can answer more questions if you dont understand what i wrote

<-- having same problem with MSD and ignitor issues, except I dont blow mine completely. Its after the car heats up for 20 minutes, then sputters and bogs all over the place.

I remember hearing something about MSD and arcing the current, so it messes the ignitor up.

BUMP for both of us

same **** used to happen to me until I was fed up and took it out. It's not really even worth the money unless you're boosted, considering each ignitor is around 170 or so.
