Moonroof question.....
Sooo.....my moonroof works perfectly fine when it is warm outside, but now that it has gotten cold it won't open at all. It won't vent up nor will it move back into the hood like it's supposed to. Do you think that the motor for it is going bad or what???
What counts as cold in Dallas? Mine wouldn't open when cold either, but I consider cold to be below freezing and mine was frozen shut. Did the motor sound like it was straining or turning?
Assuming it is not frozen, carry the lube in the car and next time it's warm enough to open, spray the tracks then. Use one with the spray wand so you don't spray it all over though.

He said it opens fine when its warm and has a hard time when its cold. Wait until its warm and then spray silicone.

Might also consider replacing the seals. They might be old and stiffening up.
In general, the seals on a moonroof are much less compliant when cold, requiring more force from the motor.
Hehehe, its my job, ya see. I currently design 'smart' motor electronics for moonroofs. Ours have to work correctly at -40 degrees. We see a major increase in force required once the seals get cold.
