Default Modding stock dizzy cap for external coil

I have the MSD power tower to put onto my stock distributor cap. It requires that I put silicone into the cavity after putting the tower in the drilled part... which needs 24 hours to dry.

I have a time/schedule problem, so I'm wondering if I put the tower onto the dizzy and NOT put the silicone on for a half day (and drive the car a few miles)... would that be kosher ?

I assume the silicone is to only seal moisture out of the drilled part ?

Seal it as it is there to protect the electricity from arcing all over the place as well, and not just moisture.

You don't need the ballast resistor on our applications.

Thx bro... it's giving me hell.

So far the list is up to new icm, new coil, new battery... and now the alternator is kicking up..... I was forced to pull my MSD setup and threw on a stock dizzy to diagnose wtf is going on....

Well... that's what I get for not being satisfied with stock....

Honestly, if there is nothing wrong with the stock dizzy...I'd leave it stock.

Whats the problem with the car if I may ask...I may have had the same problem before and could help you out....so you could drop the MSD back in with a quickness

Honestly right now I'm not sure wtf is up... maybe the dizzy's pick up has gone bad.

The problem has changed over the course of my umm.... misfortune.

First the car wouldn't start, then it stopped cranking... then fixed some stuff... got it to start and drive... then the tach started going crazy at 4k + then it got worse... I swapped out icms... it went away and came back... then I swapped icms and coil... problem went away for 5 mins... then comes back at 7k+ only. THEN... the next day... car won't start again. I replace the ENTIRE dizzy... car starts and runs... but feels like it's pulling a boat. OMIG... where's my shot gun ?

I am too busy at work to keep playing this game so I've given up and will take the POS to the local Honda specialty mechanic 2mrw. (i hate going to mechanics)

Are your spark plugs and wires good? Have you pulled and inspected the plugs recently?

Goes crazy at 4k+, like the needle darts all over the place? Sounds like an ignition module failure if that happens. Are the groundings good and checked with a multimeter? Also, I'm not sure how the module is mounted in your case, in my case in the corolla, I'm running adjustable timing management using a bosch ignition module and it has a 100% failure rate if it gets too warm and it would start to act like that, so check the mounting too and that it doesnt get too hot.
