Stock D16z6 ex trans.
I've got this loud grinding/moan coming from the trans when I take off from a stop.

If I gas it hard, and realease the clutch simultaneously right off the line from stop it will make a loud moan/grind then the tire will chirp and I'll take off. No noise if i take off slow.

I replaced both axles, and got a stage 2 clutch, still same noise under load at take-off. Real annoying when i'm trying to beat someone off the line, and it sounds like somethings going to give.

Help!

my first guess- I could be wrong. The bearings in your trans are done. there is an amazing writeup in somewhere in here about replacing trans bearings and a great explaination on how they all work- there is more to it thatn you thought.

try searching mainshaft or countershaft bearing, or somebody can throw up a link.
