Default Mini-me woes

D15B7 block w/ D16Z6 head
Swap the engine in and here are the symptoms
Car will start but idles roughly, can't open throttle more than 1/4 or engine dies on me. No CEL and timing is conservative
Did a compression test and got 150-170-170-170
I had a vacuum leak between the TB an IM but that's fixed (I hope..)

With the throttle 1/4 of the way I can get it up to 6.5k rpm (in neutral) but it bogs at 6.5 and won't go up more

The car will drive but, like I said, you can't give more than 1/4 of the gas pedal or it dies.

Any ideas, I'm leaning towards bent valves in cylinder 1 or a vaccum leak

I would go ahead and keep searching for vaccum leak. If you dont find anything then do a leak down test to see if its something internal.

that sucks man...i had the same set up, same problems. Switched to d16a6 block with d16y8 head...PERRRRFFECCCT runs great . But I would take off the intake tube and while the car is running look in the throttle body, you will see a hole their, plug it up with your finger and see if it changes the idle, i know it will but you let me know

Most likely the problem is in the distributor, distributor wiring, ignition timing and/or camshaft timing.

If your fuel pressure checks out, I really don't think this would have anything to do with a vacuum leak.

Camshaft timing is stock, the cam sproket lined up perfectly when I put the head on (checking with the crankshaft pulley).

The distributor worked well previously, then I spun a rod bearing and changed the block

I'll recheck the distributor timing again and let you guys know
I'm thinking it might also be my IACV, let me know what you think.

simple4012 if you come by Montreal, let me know, I owe you a 24
The MAP and TPS were switch (me = )

Problem fixed but it still won't idle right
It goes up and down from 900-2000 rpm
any ideas? I'm thinking IACV again

I does rev perfectly, good to hear 8k again
