About 2 days ago when I drove my car Vtec kicked really hard, and driving it yesterday Vtec was really weak...so i checked the oil hot and it was over a half a quart and checking it this morning cold it was at the full line. Whats the deal? I never noticed this, IICR usually measuring hot yeilds the same results as cold.

ITR / Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic.

 

oil expands when it heats up. so do the internal parts of your motor

 

when the engine is runing, oil is all over the motor.
oil level should be check when the engine is cold

 

Get engine to normal operating temp, then turn off the engine and wait 5-10 minutes. Now check your oil, I believe the owners manual states something similar to this.

When I do this it still reads above normal.

This is correct. The oil level will always read higher when the motor is at normal opperating temp as long as all the oil has drained back down into the pan This is due the fact the oil expands as its temperature rises. So one would assume that since your dipstick is reading that your oil is above full, you can probably safely say you have overfilled your oil
