maybe hydrolock? what should i do?
ok folks, im new on this forum. CXhatchback refered me here. im usually on purehonda.com . well anyways here's what happened, its pouring down rain outside and im late for a graduation ceremy thing at school so i didn't have time to take off my cold air intake. well i pull out my driveway and i start going up the street and i run through a puddle that i didn't see. i was maybe doin 5-10 mph. well anyways, my motor starts sputtering and then cuts off. i try to to crank it up and it won't turn over. well then it quits trying to turn over and all i hear is the starter trying to crank up. the motor quit turning. well i roll my car back into my driveway and down into the garage. jack it up, pull off the intake, wipe it out, it had a little bit of water in it. only a few drops. then i pulled my plugs out only one had a little water on it. the 4th cylinder plug. well anwyas i also pulled off the valve cover everything looked fine there. i put everything back on. then i took off my driver side wheel and tryed manually turning the crank. it turned perfectly. then i tryed to start it back up, i can feel the motor trying to turn over, its almost like its not getting a spark.
should i pull out my distributor and dry it out if its wet?
should i pull my plugs back out and just make sure they are dry and just sand them with some sandpaper?
do you guys think its hydrolocked??
i hope its not, cause i really can't afford a new motor i will have to get my parents to buy me one.
thanks, sorry its soooo long

the samething happened to me a few months ago all I did was pull the plugs(they were wet) dry them off, look down into the cylinder if you see water than you can do what I did and roll up some rags(small enough to fit in the spark plug hole), let it soak up most of the water, then I used my air compressor with a small nozzle and spray air in the cylinders for a while, then I used a blow dryer to try to dry out the rest of the water, and then I tried to start it up, started for like a second then died did the steps again and walahhh it started up (blew white smoke out of the tail pipe for a few minutes) and it has ran fine every since. hth. good luck
if it is Hydrolocked, maybe a bent rod, 1 of the worst case scenerio. try drying everything up, including the inside of you dist.
well it almost turned over, i drained all the oil out a few minutes ago and im gonna get some more oil tomorrow. i needed to change it anyways. i will try it when i get home from school. i have to final exams tomorrow morning.
