Master power window switch heartache
I have a 1997 honda accord lx and the master power window switch was only working two windows of the four. Regulators are fine (tested with 12v source after unpluged), went to the junkyard and pulled an identicle m.p.w.s. from an lx as well, plugged it in and still, the exact same windows don't move. Is there another cpu or source that runs this mpws so that I may replace it? Where is it located? Any ideas would be helpful. Just so you have an idea of what went on, one day the driver side window switch didn't work, soon after the pass. rear window stopped working, took it apart and did the above to no avail. If I had shorted something accidentally, what is my next step?
Well, maybe no one has had this problem before and doesn't know what to post, but I can't seem to find a solution on google either, I suppose I will go to the dealer and pay them to go through the computer to reset or replace something. I should also note that the up/down button switch on both the doors that don't work with the driver side master switch, don't work themselves at the door. Meaning: the pass. front and driver rear, both work by using the driver main switch and their corresponding door switch. The other two do not work by mpws or by themselves at the door window switch. I just wanted to be able to do this fix myself and thought someone might know here. When I find out, I will post the solution that they tell me and the fee.
Have you checked the fuses?
Test for power at the switch for the windows that do not work.
A common problem on older cars is the wiring in the door boots, they can break over time. 94
