Unless you find a good deal on a GSR swap, I'd go the LSvtec route. It all depends though, I mean do you have an ECU? trans? or do you need everything? I guess if I was starting from scratch, I'd probably find a p28, a b20 bottom end and a vtec head... all can be found on here at very reasonable prices. However if you're not mechanically inclined enough to install the lsvtec conversion kit and a new headgasket or just don't want to mess with it, the easy way out would be to source out a GSR swap/ecu.

If I was building an LSvtec for boost on a budget, I would do a b18a/b bottom end, and a b16 or b18c head, with eagle rods and good pistons (too many good companies to list, all at comparable prices). However if I wasn't on a budget, I'd build this (which is what I'm finishing up now):

2006 Build

1994 Integra RS
2400 lbs w/out driver

B18c1 Head
Type R Cams
Ferrea Stainless valves
Crower Titanium Retainers
Skunk 2 Springs
b18a1 block 85 mm darton sleeves
JE 9.1s
Eagle Rods
Stock LS Crank

GSR trans w/Quaife & PG Cradle
Skunk 2 Drag coilovers
Tokico Blues
Traction bars
Spec Stage 5 clutch & pp
Clutchmasters 8lb flywheel

GT35
Custom Top Mount
3" Dp/Exhaust
HKS SSQ
Tial 38 mm w/1 bar spring
PWR 750 HP Intercooler
2.5" Charge Piping
Skunk 2 IM
Edelbrock 68mm TB

MSD 7al 2
MSD Pro Power coil
MSD 3 step
Walbro 255
-8 feed, -6 return (stainless)
Aeromotive FPR
Aeromotove Filter

P28 - Neptuned!

Well you can't look at it in terms of amount of boost pressure, you have to look at it in power goals. Different sized turbos will produce different amounts of power at the same boost level (15 psi on a good t3t04e might yield 350 whp, where 15 psi on a gt35 could yield 450 whhp)...with an ls bottom end, aftermarket pistons/rods, stock sleeves... arp headbolts... stock head, stock cams... you can realistically shoot for 500 whp assuming you have a good tuner

i've also been reading this dude saying to build a reliable ls/vtec setup vtec pistons should be used, so i'm assuming the after market pistons would do?

no you don't want vtec pistons, you want aftermarket pistons for whatever block you are using, so the wristpin location is correct for the rods.
