Your stock gsr ecu. Or if you want extra features like 2 step or if you want to change your vtec settings "which i dont recommend for a stock gsr" then yes you can get a chip ecu and burn a gsr basemap with those added features. But to be honest your better off with the stock gsr settings

No its not gonna do anything different if its just the same map. I would suggest getting it tuned and having someone who knows what they are doing mess with your settings. There maybe something else thats causing the car to have no power. Do a compression test to see if your motor is healthy. Maybe its the driving. Who knows?

you want to change your ecu for the wrong reasons. getting a chipped/tuned is used for changing fuel/timing maps on heavily modified engines (especially turbo). granted there are many features like vtec engagement and rpm/speed limiters, just adjusting them because you want to will not increase performance in any way. doing mods that have no point are going to get you placed in the "ricer" category

the gsr comes from the factory with the most effecient vtec point, it is not as loud as other vtec engines due to the intake manifold design. as for the 120mph governor, you shouldnt be driving that fast anyway.

now if you feel that your car has a problem and is causing it to be underpowered then we would be happy to help you diagnose that. if you think getting a new ecu to change your vtec point will make the car faster you are sadly mistaken.
