Default B20/ Vtec vs GSR swap in EK hatch

What are the advantages of B20/ Vtec setup vs a GSR swap besides the obvious torque? Is really that big of a difference in horsepower vs torque? Which ECU do I use GSR or CRV? How much time and money between the 2? Is the B20/ Vtec setup worth while because I'm leaning towards it beacause I know the block is a 2.0, I just want to know what im getting into.

Well first off what do you plan on doing with whatever motor you get? Crvtec will have down time in prepping and you wont bgsr will drop right in e able to rev as less down time and you can rev freely. Search and learn.

If you're willing to put forth the time and effort to properly build the CRVTEC, then the power potential is much greater than a stock longblock GSR. The biggest advantage of the GSR is that you won't have to do anything to it.

gs-r i say would be your best bet.

it would be reliable and it responds well to many bolt-ons

as well as boost

I've posted the same answer in like six other threads like this:

"In the end, you'll end up spending an assload on both, yield similar power numbers, and one will be just as reliable as the next depending on how you treat and maintain it, just like anything else. "

It still sort of applies here in this case, after its all said in done whatever money you spend on the b20 you could of spent on the gsr and done relatively the same thing; bore, sleeve, cams, blah blah blah, and vice versa.

If you plan on keeping them both stock, go for the stock motor, the gsr.
