Default LSD install question

ok i need some wisdom here...i have what im told a 98 CTR LSD from Ebay...came with the VSS gear...so i have my tranny out and i get the diff. out then take the final drive gear off...and i goto put the final drive on the LSD and the gear is too small nor do the bolt holes line up..so what do i need to do in order to use the LSD..do i need to purchase a different final drive..and also will it fit in my transmission once i get the bearings on, i believe the shafts that the bearings sit on are the same size...is all i can see is that the final drive doesn't fit

help please

i have a 99civic si(b16a2)/stock motor and tranny

Default Re: LSD install question (Myleatherseats)

well i take it no one knows...well this is what i have gathered and believe how to fix it...the CTR/ITR lsd won't work with the final drive gear off of a non-lsd transmission..it will only work with transmissions with lsd's or that have the option to upgrade lsd (ie. the USDM ITR, JDM CTR) so i believe you have to get the final drive off of one of those or a JDM ITR if you want to upgrade your gear ratios...but to keep the 4.400 you can use a CTR or USDM ITR final drive due to the thread pattern on the gear itself is the same is the lsd...but comment please let me know if you guys have anything to say or thoughts...thanks
