Default Are all LSD's interchangable?

In other words, would an ITR LSD fit the B16 hydro tranny? I know a CTR LSD would fit a B16 hydro tranny since they all have the same final drive 4.40

Yes it will, that's what I run. If you find an ITR LSD with a higher FD, you can always swap the gear.

there are issues with fitting a ITR lsd into a b16 tranny... it might be the final drive ring gear or something not clearing the laarge b18 lsd housing...

So I if I want to use the ITR LSD on the B16 Tranny and keep the Final Drive I currently have, I will have to change the Ring Gear to make the ITR LSD fit. But which Ring Gear would I use?

itr lsd= gsr or itr final drive.
b18b or b16 final drive wont fit the itr lsd, the ring gear needs to be bigger

But according to this site, the CTR, ITR and SiR2 have the same Final Drive

Or is that info incorrect?

It will fit, but there are rules.
It mostly depends on which B16A hydro tranny you own.

If you own a 92-95 US or JDM Y21/S21 B16A tranny, a type-R LSD will not simply drop in, unless you use the final drive ring gear (4.40fd) that aides the ITR LSD. Or you can run any S80 (GSR) fd ring gear + the ITR LSD in order to make it work in a Y21/S21 tranny. Reason why -- the ITR LSD is bigger in size (diameter) than a Y21's LSD or stock differential + fd ring gear.

If you own a 96+ S4C B16 tranny (US Si coupe/JDM 96+ SiR/& CTR), an integra or civic Type-R LSD will simply drop in + fit the S4C's FD ring gear; Honda *upgraded* the Y21 B16A tranny to an S4C tranny, which is basically a rebadged S80 tranny.

Thanx for that info Katman. Im not too sure what exact tranny I got. When I bought my JDM 2nd Gen B16A, the tranny didnt come with a label. So Ill have to just say its the stock tranny. I get so confused when it comes to tranny codes.

Ok. I'm assuming its a Y21 B16 tranny since all US or JDM 92-95 B16A engines come with Y21 tranny's. But then again, some places do weird things like swap tranny's, so I can't be too sure of what tranny your engine actually has, but I'm guesssing a Y21..

Besides the label that could be easily taken off, would there be any other markings to determine what tranny I got?

not that I know of, unless you crack the tranny open and count the teeth on the fd ring. That will tell you if you have a 4.40 tranny or not.
